Principal Welcome
Welcome to the new academic year at St. Luke School!
As we step into our 67th year and my 11th as the St. Luke principal, I am excited to lead our dedicated faculty, staff, and vibrant students filled with curiosity. We are proud to be a fully Authorized Catholic International Baccalaureate World School for both Primary and Middle Grades, continuing to build on our achievements and explore our potential.
This year, our theme is "Leading with Love and Aloha!" This theme offers numerous opportunities for everyone—students, staff, parents, and guardians—to actively participate and bring this theme to life through various service projects and special events. Following last year’s focus on "Reflecting God’s Kindness" we now aim to foster "GROWTH in FAITH", which has guided us through numerous transitions and taught us the value of community and the power of love.
The term "Aloha" is deeply connected to the Hawaiian culture, enriches our theme this year. Aloha is not just a greeting; it embodies love, compassion, mercy, peace, kindness, and gratitude. In Hawaiian, 'alo' means face, and 'ha' means breath, signifying the shared breath of life or 'mana'; that connects all people. Embracing this spirit, we aim to cultivate a community where kindness and compassion are at the forefront of our interactions. Our staff wil be wearing shirts this year with the following Hawaiian phrase:
"Aloha Ke Akua" meaning "God is Love! Our commitment to a Catholic International Baccalaureate education remains strong, nurturing critical thinking, reflection, rejuvenation, and renewal within our faith-filled community. This educational journey is not only personal but also communal, as we collectively strive to deepen our faith, apply our learning in diverse settings, and
reinforce the values that bind us as a family.
For newcomers, I invite you to explore what makes our school unique by visiting and engaging with our community. For our returning families, I hope you find renewed enthusiasm and connection here. Together, let's make this year exceptional as we live out our theme of "Leading with Love and Aloha!".
God Bless,
