Speech & Debate Team

2026-27 Team Info

The St. Luke School Speech Team has a long history of students excelling in competitive public speaking skills in a fun, supportive way. Team meetings after school are designed to help students develop and improve speech and debate techniques. The Team also attends local tournaments to compete against students from other schools.

For students in 5th - 8th grade

Cost:  $135 per student
 

Why join the Speech + Debate Team?

  • Learn how to speak to an audience (including a judge!).
  • Develop more confidence in yourself.
  • Learn how to create and defend an argument.
  • Get a head start on high school & college skills.

The Speech and Debate Team season runs from September through end of February.

  • Debate Team will begin on Tuesday, September 8th.
    Members meet Tuesdays and Thursdays after school 3:15-4:30 pm
    in Mrs. Conrow's classroom, Room 213.
     
  • Speech Team will begin on Wednesday, September 9th
    Members meet Wednesdays after school 3:15-4:30 pm
    in Mrs. Conrow's classroom, Room 213

Speech & Debate Team Registration                            

2026-27 Team Fees: $135 for Speech Team and/or Debate Team.
This fee covers meetings and all tournament fees for students throughout the season.
